State Police Take In Sex Offenders From Counties
From Monday, January 28, through Wednesday January 30, 2013, a Sex Offender Compliance Sweep was conducted in the Troop 4 area which includes the following counties: Kanawha, Putnam, Wood, Ritchie, Wirt, Pleasants, Clay, Roane, Calhoun, Mason, and Jackson. The following was reported in this news release by First Sergeant Michael Baylous:
This Compliance Sweep was coordinated and conducted by the West Virginia State Police, which includes the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit with the assistance of various law enforcement agencies such as the US Marshal Service, Kanawha County SD, Mason County SD, Putnam County SD, Roane County SD, Charleston PD, Dunbar PD, Nitro PD, Parkersburg PD, Point Pleasant PD, South Charleston PD, Spencer PD and St. Albans PD.
Sex Offender Compliance Sweeps such as this are randomly conducted throughout the year in addition to yearly verifications in order to ensure compliance.
