Blades Busted Again

Accused Of Witness Tampering-Held Pending Bond

A Putnam County man accused of having sex with a teenage girlMartin Lee Blades is back in jail.

Martin Lee Blades, 44, of Jarjohn Drive, Winfield, was arrested again October 6th, 2011, by the West Virginia State Police.

According to court records, Blades is accused with attempting to make contact with the girl in an attempt to get her to change her story.

Blades was allegedly parked across the street from the girl's home when he allegedly spoke to a boyfriend of the girl's sister. He is accused of providing his new cell phone number so he could talk to the alleged victim.

You may recall that Blades was busted September 14th, 2011 by West Virginia State Police Trooper R.A. Phillips. Blades was charged with 15 sex crimes.

PutnamLIVE.com does not publish the names of alleged sexual assault victims-including the names of minors-unless they step forward.

Blades was released on $40,000 bond September 30th after Putnam County Magistrate Linda J. Hunt reduced it from $150,000.

After his arrest, Blades was transported to the South-Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, in Charleston. Officials booked and photographed him at midnight, October 7th, 2011, jail records state.

During a hearing, Blades' new bond was set at $50,000, by Hunt, jail records state.

Blades' new Putnam County Magistrate Court case numbers are: 11M-1920-1921.
