2nd Annual Fund-Raising Event Attracts 100 Walkers
A new Putnam County tradition is becoming a hit while it lends a helping hand.
ROD's Miles For Meso continues to grow in popularity.
Bowles says they raised about $17,000 before expenses and will be sending approximately $15,000 to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation soon.
"We are still receiving donations by mail and online so we don't have a final tally at this time," she explains.
But that's not all."Me, my mom, sister and aunt went to New York City to meet with other Meso Warriors and families to spread the word of National Mesothelioma Awareness Day Monday September 26th by meeting outside of the Today Show," says Bowles. "We were able to get a few shots on the Today show as well. There was anywhere between 80-100 others there to share this day and make others aware of this deadly cancer."
Bowles hopes next year will be bigger, better and bring more awareness to others.
